Born Wyndham, Southland New Zealand.
Studied art at Southland Polytechnic. Worked as a graphic artist but always pursuing her artistic passion and now dedicated herself to her artistic career.
As a developing artist as well as a major emerging artist, Hunter's work continues to grow.
Hunter has won several awards and has paintings in collections throughout New Zealand, including the Public Collection in the Southland Art Gallery and also in numerous overseas collections.

judith richie
Judith attended the Ilam School of Art followed by Teacher's College. Has taught in Arnhemland, Borneo and the Cook Islands. Tutored at NMIT in Nelson and now shares stories about the lively Nelson arts scene as arts editor at the Nelson Mail. Judith as well as being a columnist is an enthusiastic textile artist, film maker, costume designer and sustainable house designer & builder. Judith paid kind tribute at Patricia's passing. 'She always encouraged me in my work and advised me to take further study in the arts which I did... Like Mrs Wilson I have had a colourful adventurous life inspired by her 'give it a go' attitude... I know Mrs Wilson will always be there with me as I create, write, teach that has been her legacy for myself and I'm sure many other of her ex-students.' Further background here & here. |

tony shields
Tony was brought up in rural Southland, his dad painted and his whole family excelled at art. Tony moved to Dunedin in 1977 and became a well known Otago artist, particularly water colour in landscapes and seascapes. Tony is passionate about painting 'en plein air' and enjoys tutoring both outdoors and in his studio. More recently Tony has moved to Christchurch. At Patricia's passing, Tony conveyed 'as a family Patricia had a big influence on us all, personally she has been my biggest influence and has led me on a journey that I am so grateful to her for. Anytime I have to speak publicly about my art I say Patricia Wilson was the person who inspired me to my dream.' See more of Tony's creative work here |
